Three major Skegness holiday park brands ranked near bottom of UK survey

Three of the biggest holiday park operators with resorts in Skegness have appeared towards the bottom of a new national customer satisfaction survey.

Consumer group Which? asked more than 2,200 people about their experiences staying with some of Britain's best-known holiday park and resort companies.

The survey ranked 21 brands based on factors including customer service, accommodation, cleanliness, facilities and entertainment, food and drink and value for money.

Butlin’s finished 20th out of the 21 brands, recording an overall customer score of 63%.

Only Pontins, with 61%, finished below it.

Two other companies operating holiday parks in Skegness also appeared towards the lower end of the table.

Haven Holidays and Parkdean Resorts each received an overall score of 68%, placing them joint 18th in the ranking.

All three companies have significant operations around the Skegness area.

Butlin’s operates its historic resort at Ingoldmells, which first opened in 1936 and was the original Butlin’s holiday camp.

Haven operates Skegness Holiday Park, formerly the Richmond Holiday Centre, close to the town centre.

The company says it has invested around £11million transforming the site since adding it to the Haven portfolio, including new entertainment, food and activity facilities.

Parkdean Resorts operates Southview Holiday Park on the outskirts of Skegness, a 350-acre resort with an indoor swimming pool, entertainment and family activities.

Importantly, the Which? results relate to the companies as a whole rather than individual resorts.

That means the scores should not be interpreted as a specific rating of Butlin’s Skegness, Haven Skegness Holiday Park or Southview Holiday Park.

How the ranking was calculated

Which? surveyed 2,221 members of its Connect panel and members of the general public during February and March 2026.

Respondents rated holiday park brands they had stayed with across a range of categories.

The overall customer score combines guests' overall satisfaction with how likely they would be to recommend the company.

Which? also cautions that the final survey data was not weighted and may not be representative of all UK holiday park visitors.

At the opposite end of the table, Potters Resorts was the highest-rated operator with a customer score of 83%.

Hoburne Holidays followed on 81%, while Darwin Escapes received 80%.

Butlin’s received two out of five stars for customer service, accommodation quality, cleanliness, food and drink and value for money in the Which? results, while its facilities, activities and entertainment received three stars.

The company has also announced plans to invest £150million across its three resorts over four years, upgrading accommodation and facilities.

Its Skegness resort continues to be one of the town's largest tourism businesses and includes accommodation, a traditional fairground, entertainment venues and Splash Waterworld.

Haven's Skegness site has also undergone extensive recent investment, while Parkdean's Southview remains one of the area's largest holiday parks.

The results therefore provide a snapshot of customer opinion across the national brands rather than a verdict on Skegness itself — or on any particular Lincolnshire resort.
