Community organisations across Skegness and the wider East Lindsey district could benefit from a new £2million package of council funding.
East Lindsey District Council launched two new grant schemes on Wednesday, September 9, aimed at supporting community facilities, grassroots projects and larger improvements across the district.
The investment is being made through the East Lindsey Investment Fund.
Of the £2million total, £1.5million has been allocated to the new East Lindsey Community Legacy Scheme.
That fund will be managed on behalf of the council by Lincolnshire Community Foundation and will offer grants of up to £35,000.
Potential applicants include community facilities, parish councils, village halls, community projects and grassroots sports clubs.
Funding is expected to be awarded during 2026 and 2027, with successful projects required to complete their work by February 2028.
A further £500,000 has been allocated to the Pride in East Lindsey Larger Grant Scheme.
That programme is aimed at bigger strategic schemes seeking more than £35,000 and which either benefit a significant number of East Lindsey residents or contribute strongly to local growth and pride in the area.
The council says the latest funding builds on previous investment which has supported projects including improvements to the Skegness Foreshore.
East Lindsey District Council leader Councillor Craig Leyland said the authority wanted investment to reach communities ranging from villages and market towns to the coast and Lincolnshire Wolds.
The Community Legacy Scheme is currently open, with the council’s funding information stating a closing date of October 30, 2026. Projects supported through the programme are expected to be completed by February 2028.
The funding could therefore provide an opportunity for eligible organisations in Skegness, Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards, Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea and communities across East Lindsey to secure money for local improvements.
Applications and eligibility information are available through East Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire Community Foundation.
